Welcome to the I/O Psychology Research Portal
May 6, 2009 – 9:41 amHello,
While the I/O Portal is under construction, I welcome your feedback regarding what types of tools and resources you would like to see included.
The idea is that this portal would be your departments “go to” page for digital scholarly resources and, while I will be the manager of the site, the content will be driven by its users.
To give you some ideas regarding what we can include, here is a link to portals which have already been created: Research Portals
In the near future, I hope to have several mechanisms in place through which you could provide feedback and suggestions. In the meantime, please email those ideas to me abaruzzi@gmu.edu.
Best,
Andrea Baruzzi
Psychology Liaison Librarian

I think it would be helpful to add links to already collected data (about which I don’t think many people in our program are aware). Specifically, governmental agencies such as the Census Bureau among others provide such data free of charge on a monthly basis (for instance in the form of the current population survey; CPS) available through a program called “dataferrett”.
Additionally, GMU subscribes to the U Michigan’s ICPSR (www.icpsr.umich.edu) which provides “free” data as well from a great number of larger scale survey efforts by U Michigan and the Federal Government among others. A number of both data sources (ICPSR and dataferrett) contain organizationally relevant data that may be of use to students in our program.
