                <description>The Global Learning Portal (GLP)is a network for educators which includes both collaborative &quot;communities&quot; and a resource library with education materials, studies and courses. Portal applications connect stakeholders and educators, deliver educational resources and support development project activities worldwide. The portal facilitates country-level and regional development and education initiatives by linking educators, international development practioners, government ministries and organizations in over 130 countries with a comprehensive and flexible set of portal tools for collaboration, communication, and knowledge management. GLP supports activities in countries and regions such as Afghanistan, Middle East, Zambia, Mexico, Central Asia and Latin America. The Global Learning Portal is a multi-stakeholder global alliance, which includes support from USAID, the Academy for Educational Development (AED) and Sun Microsystems. GLP partners include UNESCO, Education International, Widernet/eGranary, and European Schoolnet.</description>
